This is the first time in a long time since I didn't have a boyfriend or a date to spend Valentine's Day with. I actually can't quite remember when...maybe since I was about 15-17 years old. Wow! Maybe I even had a boy to smooch then. Huh. Well, there is always a first time for everything. Nice thing is that I am feeling alright about it. I am concentrating on some things and discovering new people and ways of being. I am on a path of rediscovery.
My Valentine this year was my good friend Erica. We shared a bottle of red wine and a few laughs. It's all good.

My Birthday!!

My birthday came and went earlier this week on Monday and I had a great time with my friends. Some of my lovely SF and LA peeps took me out to a couple of super yummy dinners. I also drove up to see my good friend who lives in Boulder Creek which is near Santa Cruz. Sometimes a long drive into the mountains is just the thing one needs.
It is still my birthday week so I'm gonna put my Amazon wish list out there. Hell, It is still my birthday MONTH!! I'm gonna celebrate!! :-)

"Puzzles" art show

So the piece that I was struggling with is finally finished and will be up at the show this saturday (tomorrow). I am happy with it. I don't have a photo of it though. I need to sell my film cameras and buy a digital one. Anyways here is the information on the event:

Today

Sometimes I wish that I could take a pill to make the pain go away. Something as easy as taking a couple of capsules of ibuprofen.

Other than that I am still struggling with a painting. I don't do well with themed shows. It's like being given a homework assignment. I want to keep it in the style I've been developing, but it's hard because I wouldn't have picked the size and format I am forced to use. I like to work on pieces that come from my own inspiration and heart. I don't need a homework assignment.

Problemsolving a Painting

I'm tying 4 panels together and the theme of the piece is "matters of the heart".

Me: "But it isn't gonna be perfect."

Friend: "I know, you want it to be perfect. That's how love is though, right??? Not perfect."

Me: "Yeah, it's just all these pieces tied up in the best way possible."
